Port Oneida, Diptych Sketch by Angela Saxon, 2013

Sketching with my mom

Bonnie_PortOneidaGrowing up, my parents regularly packed along art supplies when we went off camping: pencils, sketchpads, maybe some watercolors. It wasn’t a big deal, just something that we did. This past spring, we had a couple of warmer-than-usual days, so my mom, Bonnie Mathias, and I, and her Scottie, Harry, packed our stuff and spent the afternoon at the beach at Port Oneida, in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. I ended up painting a diptych from the small acrylics I did that day.
