Leland Exhibit: Royce Deans and Friends

APRIL 1-24, 2021

Art in the Slow Lane
with Angela Saxon, Lynn Uhlmann and Anne Corlett

With eight straight summer exhibitions at the Old Art Building in Leland, MI (and a 4-year hiatus following that), Royce Deans (the OAB Ann Hall Visiting Artist for 2021) thought it was time to get the band back together! He contacted the rest of the quartet of Leos: Angela Saxon, Lynn Uhlmann, and Anne Corlett. “We’ve been working so hard in our studios during this pandemic … what do you say we show what we got?”

Join the four artists for the Old Art Building 2021 inaugural show, Royce Deans and Friends, starting with a virtual opening April 1st on Live Zoom, complete with a signature cocktail, the “Sorry Rabbit”.

SORRY RABBIT!
Paying homage to the diligence of the beloved tortoise, slow and steady wins the race.

Steep chamomile tea, and freeze in the ice cube mold of your choice.

.75 oz lemon juice (about 1 1/2 Tablespoons)
.75 oz maple syrup
1.5 oz bourbon (can substitute iced tea or soda water)

Mix ingredients, pour over chamomile tea ice cubes and sip away
• Black tea would make an interesting option to chamomile for the ice cubes
• No bourbon? try gin, run, tequila or vodka

40 paintings, drawings, and monotypes available for purchase online. And since things are starting to open up a little bit, there will be 16 pieces from the online show hanging for you to see in person starting Fridays, Saturday and Sundays 10 am-2 pm during the run of the exhibit.

Friday and Saturday, April 9/10 from 10 am-2 pm: Monotype and painting demos with Angela Saxon and Royce Deans, Clothesline sale of small work on paper
