Painting at The Commons

I’m drawn to the yellow brick buildings at The Grand Traverse Commons, formerly the State Mental Hospital, in Traverse City. Especially in the fall. The lower sun angle offers such dramatic lighting. The yellow brick often glows. Only a portion of the complex has been restored, so there are a lot of beautiful old buildings in varying states of disrepair…which adds to the charm/mystery a bit. I’m continuing with a series I began in 2013.
