The Fishtown Preservation Society held a plein air event this past weekend in Fishtown, Leland, MI. About 15 artists participated, it was one of those perfect northern Michigan weekends besides: cool, sunny, just gorgeous. I have been becoming more and more comfortable incorporating buildings into my work in the past year. There are so many different angles and shapes in structures, compared to shorelines and trees and horizons. I was very engaged with specific relationships between colors and shapes of the buildings and rooflines, as well as the spaces between them. The event was a fundraiser for Fishtown Preservation, I was pleased that both of my pieces sold.
